In Camera Orton Effect video.

Here is the video demonstrating my in camera Orton Effect (sort of) to create that dreamy effect. I use it for macro work often to create mood. It was windy, but I was able to hopefully give you an idea of how to do the images. Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if it helps, and please click the Subscribe button if you don’t already.

Focus Peaking for Macro Photography

Focus Peaking for Macro Photography.

I have been using mirrorless cameras for many years, actually since the Olympus EPL-1, and am loving the new features added the past few years that make it even easier to focus. You have always had the ability to zoom in on the LCD screen to focus, but I use a technique often where I am forced to handhold the camera and lens. Focusing can be an issue, but I have found that using a feature, focus peaking, helps me to work easier, quicker and more accurately. I will pre-determine and size I want my subject to be in the frame and simply move the camera forward to back to get the image. It is an old technique I learned using film camera and shooting butterflies, but with focus peaking it is easier. Here is a video that demonstrates the technique for you. Speaking of videos, if you like the video, please give it a thumbs up, and Subscribe to my channel. Thanks.

A Little Macro Monday

A little Macro Monday.

As I have been outside photographing the birds and “The 3 Chairs” I have been telling myself to not forget to photograph the Zinnia that are in the garden as well. Finally yesterday I did get a chance to do just that. I haven’t done as much macro photography as I would like this year, but hopefully will as I visit some gardens in the next week.

I finally finished a video yesterday of some time in my backyard photographing the birds. I uploaded it to YouTube last night and if you haven’t seen it yet, check it out. It will give you just a sample of what it is like in the Bear Woods Wildlife Sanctuary. Here is a link to the video. If you like it, please give it a thumbs up, and Subscribe to my channel on YouTube too so you won’t miss any of the videos I release.
