Northern Parula.

Without doubt one of the prettiest Warblers that migrate through Bear Woods in the Fall is the Northern Parula. The soft green of the bird and the bright yellow is hard to miss when it visits. They are one of the more vocal birds that visit in the Spring, but still chatter loudly in the Fall. There is some cooler weather predicted in the next few days and hopefully Fall with take hold soon. I know though when it does, it will be time to say goodbye to the Warblers for 5 or 6 months. Time to enjoy them while I can.

Northern Parula.

Most of the Fall Warblers have some what drab colors, but there are a few exceptions, the Northern Parula is one of them. Its not that it is super bright and colorful, but it just has a beautiful combination of colors. Most of the time we see the front of a bird in images, but to me the back of the Northern Parula is just perfect.

I did have a new bird yesterday in the Backyard Bird Studio, a Nashville Warbler! It is a first for me up here. I have also had a Common Yellowthroat hanging around for 2 days now too. I did manage to get a couple “Bigfoot” photos of them and am deciding about posting them at some point. What is a “Bigfoot” photo, you ask? I also refer to them as ID photos. I will take an image of the bird, process it, could post it, but feel I can capture a better image. Hey, I have a reputation to live up to, right? I will share them with a few other Bird Nerd friends, but they definitely won’t make the calendar!

Northern Parula, another new visitor to Bear Woods.

The year of the Warbler continues in Bear Woods. Yesterday, a Northern Parula stopped by for a visit. I hope it stays at least a few days. It is a beautiful bird with a great song. I had another 8 Warbler day from the back porch, which is better than some days I have had walking in the woods! I look forward to seeing what this morning holds for Warblers and other visitors!
