Our group really got some great images from our morning at Dyrholaey. The images I have seen posted and shared are really nice. I was demonstrating how using a 2 stop hard edge Graduated Neutral Density filter would even out the sky a little with the foreground when fortunately a few gulls flew through the frame as well. It was very windy that morning and although it made for great images, I was a nervous wreck going up and down the line of folks making sure their tripods were secure and positioned properly. When photographing in high wind, it is always best to make sure one leg is opposite the direction of the wind, which will add to the stability of the set up.
I learned in the past few days of a couple of events to be cancelled, the GNPA Annual Expo and Florida’s Bird and Photo Festival in St. Augustine. I completely agree with the decisions of the Boards making these decisions as precaution is definitely best. I am sure there will be a few more postponements and possible cancellations coming, and I will keep you posted as we go forward. I am working to add some events that you can do from the comfort of your self isolation as well! Take care, use common sense and remember those who are most vulnerable to Covid 19 as you decide whether you venture out. Avoid crowds and in case you didn’t know already, wash your hands often.
