“Working” a scene.
I posted an image the other day of the Courthouse Towers and a reflection. The puddle was about 200 yards from the road so I could either walk with tunnel vision to the puddles I saw, or I could look along the way for other compositions that intrigued me. About 30 yards or so from the road was a slight incline with this skeleton of a tree on top. I decided to place it in my composition to the left, since it leaned to the right, and draw the focus of viewer to the rock formation. I started at a lower perspective but I noticed the rock on the left, the 3 Gossips, was clipped and became a distraction. I moved my perspective of view to the point where both rock formations were visible and the tree sort of “fit” into the open area perfectly. Tunnel vision in photography, and in life, limit the possibilities. It never hurts to be an observer, you will see things hat so many times would be easy to simply pass by without a second thought.
