Spring migration has started here!

Spring Migration has started here.

Each year, the indicators of Spring for me are songs from high in the tree tops. Two days ago one of the indicators was singing loud and proud. Black-throated Green Warblers are one of the first to arrive, then soon will be Black and White Warblers. With them come Blue-headed Vireos. I actually heard the Vireos a few days before the Warbler, but they were off in the distance. This image is from a couple years ago as the Black-throated Greens spend most of their time up high establishing their territories. When the trees start to get their foliage the females arrive and the birds come down to the yard more often. These Warblers have always been very curious when I am out in the yard working, often coming within 5 to 10 feet from me as it they are checking out what I am doing. When the flower beds are full in the summer they are easily photographed from the porch like this image.
