Large-eared Warbler
Large-eared Warbler.
The Large-eared Warbler is a large flightless bird with sharp wings and a passion for sunflower seeds, insects and acorns. I was sitting on the back porch yesterday birding, and could hear the squirrels knocking acorns to the ground, when all of a sudden I saw movement in the tree across from me. I noticed something moving up the trunk of the tree, when all of a sudden in an open area this Large-eared Warbler appeared. It glanced in my direction for a few moments before working its way back down the tree to the ground and off into the forest. Using the Merlin Bird ID App on my phone I tried to identify it, but nothing came up as a match. I think the actual name of it is Ursus Americanus, or American Black Bear, but today it is the Large-eared Warbler!
