Red-eyed Vireo Invasion

Red-eyed Vireo Invasion.

Yesterday morning a group, not quite a flock, of Red-eyed Vireo showed up in the backyard. They came in, at least 6 of them, picked a few insects off the foliage, then flew up to the trees doing the same thing up there for about 15 minutes before dispersing into the forest. I am seeing the groupings of not only the Vireo, but the Tanagers as well. I am thinking it is getting close to the time they will start to move off to the south. The dates I show the strongest concentration of them last year just before leaving was the 3rd week of September. The numbers built up steadily before then. It is going to get crowded in the backyard in the coming weeks!
