The Ovenbird

The Ovenbird.

So far this year, it has been a little different than last year. I am seeing birds in the open yard that usually are pretty shy and don’t get out in the open areas much. I have had a Louisiana Waterthrush visiting regularly, and this Ovenbird. You usually hear the Ovenbird more than see it, but it is coming in daily to chase the Chickadees. They earned their name from the nest they build, on the ground and resembling an oven. So far the backyard Warbler count is 12 that I have photographed, 14 seen. This month will be the busy month!
