Chestnut-sided Warbler

Chestnut-sided Warbler.

I took a few minutes yesterday morning to walk around the local park here near Bear Woods. It is called Eagle’s Rest and sits on top of Mt. Oglethorpe in Pickens County. I wanted to check on the Warblers migrating through. I spent some time photographing this beautiful Chestnut-sided Warbler gleaning insects and searching for a mate. The light was incredible and he obviously was enjoying the sunshine. Every once in a while he would fly down and check out my gear then return to his morning activities. I did see a female as well so hopefully he was successful in establishing his territory and they will reside here for the summer.
