Mesmerizing Eyes

Mesmerizing Eyes.

Burrowing Owls are simply put…cute. I remember one thing that was really interesting to me when I first saw one years ago though were the eyes. It was fascinating to me how the eyes would vary in the size of the pupil between left and right depending on the amount of light that it was seeing. One eye could be very dilated and the other not. This image of the owl demonstrates this very well. My two days in Cape Coral of observing and photographing them have been a lot of fun and very educational. Now it is time to head over to Titusville for the Space Coast Birding Festival.
