Golden Eagle

Golden Eagle
Yesterday I arrived in Holland, MI for SWMCCC, a conference for the camera clubs of southwest Michigan. I have found Holland and Hope College, the location of the event, a neat little area. The folks with the event are super nice and I look forward to the next few days. I met up with my friend and fellow nature photographer, Vinny Colucci, and we went out to the Outdoor Discovery Center to check out the Birds of Prey display. The place is an incredible birding location and I am going back this morning. The Birds of Prey display was really neat and we have an appointment to go back this evening for a show with the birds outside of their enclosures. One of my definite favorites was this big beautiful Golden Eagle. It was like the bird knew it was being photographed and went into its posing routine for us. Just a gorgeous bird and I am really excited to hear that it will be a star in the show for us this evening. This is shooting through a chain link fence with the lens pushed up close to the fence to do the best to remove any interference from the metal.
