Milksnake vs Skink – Warning Nature Images!

Milksnake vs. Skink – Warning Nature Images!
Warning: This post contains images of Nature and things that happen every day in the world around us.
Yesterday while enjoying my morning coffee with Evelyn on the porch. I noticed a tail coming out from under the carpet. I pointed it out to Evelyn and said something about it being one of our Milksnakes we have seen around the yard. I lifted the carpet to find a second tail, but one of a Skink. As I moved the carpet I noticed the two were in a fight for life, well, the Skink was fighting for its life. I grabbed the camera and set up as we watched. The battle didn’t last long and the Skink became the Milksnake’s breakfast. The thing we found amazing was the snake was a mere 10 inches long and the Skink was 5 inches long, but much wider than the snake. It was truly amazing to watch. On another note, the new Tamron 18-400mm lens did a great job capturing the struggle with no issues.
Tamron 18-400mm Di-II VC HLD lens on a Nikon D-500, Manual Exposure mode, f8, ISO varies from 7200 to 10,000, shutter speed of 1/125th of a second, Sirui P424S carbon fiber monopod reduced to table top tripod, TY-350 bracket to mount the camera directly to the P424S and L10 head, MindShift Gear PhotoCross 13 Sling Bag, processed in Lightroom CC. #WithMyTamron, #TamronUSA, #TamronImageMaster, #SiruiUSA, #SiruiProfessional, #MindShiftGear

  1. Nature seems cruel. But it’s life.
