Pest Control.
 
Every year we face the invasion of Japanese Beetles on our plants. This year we have figured out how to combat the beetles without using any type of pesticides or traps. We have hired the local Scarlet Tanagers to come down from the treetops and eat them. They aren’t even charging us, they work for food! As I watched this one, with tunnel vision, the brighter male for whom the Scarlet name is based, was on a bush 5 feet to the left. As the female flew off and I backed away from the viewfinder, I saw him fly off as well. Next time my friend, next time…
