The Latest from the Woods

The Latest from the Woods.
Its been busy here in Bear Woods. This week we have had several large bears wandering through and around the yard. It is mating season and that is usually when we see the big bears. We saw him the other day following a beautiful cinnamon color backed bear. The second brood of Eastern Bluebirds has hatched and the parents are feeding vigorously. The gang of 5 from the first brood are still hanging around and I hope to see if they help pitch in and feed the new brood. It is fun to watch them hunt and perch around the yard, even on top of the nest box. A little drama yesterday when an adult male landed near the nestbox. Dad ran him off quickly. I still see some of the summer resident Warblers each day which is nice. My focus today turns to our trip to Wyoming and a little time out there chasing wildlife, sunrises and sunsets.
