American Redstart Nest

American Redstart Nest.

While I was out birding the other day, I spotted an American Redstart in some undergrowth on the side of the road. I sat and waited for it to appear in an area that I could photograph it. To my surprise it popped up with an insect and flew to a nest nearby, of which I had not seen before it did. I sat for a while watching and photographing as the pair of adults fed the nestlings. The size of the was so incredibly small and well concealed I would never have taken notice of it. It is very cool to see American Redstarts, it is awesome to see them feeding their young.
