An Update on the Bear Woods Bluebirds

An update on the Bear Woods Bluebirds.

Things have settled nicely for the Bluebirds as of recently. The pair took over the Chickadee nest a couple weeks ago, laid 6 eggs, and Mom has been sitting on them for a little over a week now. The Chickadees built in the other box and have a full nest of eggs as well. The “Nanny” has moved on to another area and I haven’t seen her in a couple weeks now. I am looking forward to hearing the baby Bluebirds in a little more than a week from now. I’ve got a fresh supply of mealworms ready for their arrival. Today I will be heading down to Angels on Horseback to check the progress of the nest down there. Everyday more and more spring migrants arrive on their way over our mountain. We have replaced the hive of bees that swarmed a couple weeks ago. Things are becoming more normal up here in Bear Woods.
