Hitching a Ride

Hitching a Ride.

I was photographing along Scipio Creek yesterday as a few shrimpers came in and I noticed a few Brown Pelicans decided instead of flying along side the boat it would be easier to just hitch a ride on the side of the boat. There were a few sitting on the stern as well. They acted like they were part of the ship’s crew just sitting there enjoying the ride. Pelicans, Gulls and Terns will often follow in the boats to get a quick easy meal as they sort out their catch and discard the extra items in the net.

  1. Hope you would consider lead a workshop to the Florida panhandle!

With the exception of last year, I do one each year in Apalachicola. We will possibly add one again later this year, if not this year for sure next year.
