Why did everyone leave?

Why did everyone leave?

Tonight for sunset, Patrick Nagle from Tamron and I went out to scout for my class tomorrow morning and capture some images. We found a mowed corn field where the Sandhill Cranes were feeding. We shot a few images when they flew out to gather with the other cranes. As soon as the main group left, so did the photographers that were there. At least 20 photographers packed up and left. Patrick and I knew something magical would happen with the light so we stayed and waited. We were rewarded with an incredible scene with cranes flying in front of beautiful clouds. I try to never leave until it is dark and completely finished. You can miss the “best stuff”!
