Pelican Flyby

Pelican Flyby.

I spent an hour or so at Scipio Creek photographing the Pelicans flying by while they fished yesterday. I wanted to continue my process of learning the new Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens and it’s Mode 2 of the Vibration Compensation for panning. I am continually amazed at how well it does. As birds would fly by the lens stayed locked on and steady. It was also very easily switched to Mode 1 when the bird would be still in the water. Taking time to learn this lens makes me really excited to get to Bosque del Apache next week for the Festival of the Cranes and the images I will capture!
