I went out to Fausett Farms early yesterday morning to capture some images of the sunflowers. It is really nice right now and will be for the next few days. I was fascinated by the amount of pollen covering some of the bees. Most of the bees were ones that didn’t return to the hive before it was dark or too cold to fly, but in some cases, you couldn’t even see the bee for the pollen. I started calculating in my head the distance from my house to here and decided it was probably just outside of their range by a couple miles. It also got me to thinking I need to plant a hillside of sunflowers next year! Man, the bees loved it! There were also lots of Monarch butterflies as well.
