Hummingbird Portrait

Ruby-throated Hummingbird 080916j copy

Hummingbird Portrait.

It is so much easier to photograph a still Ruby-throated Hummingbird than a moving at the speed of light one. This is the dominate bird at this particular feeder. It has gotten so used to me sitting in a chair about 10 feet away, it even posed a few times. As long as I don’t make any sudden movements, it stays still. I guess it has figured out I’m not interested in drinking the sugar water. Now if it was sweet tea, we might have to battle.
