Great to see this face.
In the past few days the second set of Eastern Bluebirds to fledge are starting to frequent the backyard. They visit the mealworm feeder often, hunt for insects in the backyard, and just hang out. These parents are so good, they got them in and were feeding them in the yard, once the kids figured out where everything was, they do it on their own. It is funny though, just like any good adults, at the beginning the parents are up in the trees about 50 feet away always watching. If one of the youngsters is struggling with hunting Dad comes down and gives some guidance by catching a bug and feeding. Parental feedings now are almost non-existent though. We have seen all 5 fledglings, so with the first 5 that makes 10, and 5 more eggs in the nestbox. Did I mention I love seeing the Bluebirds?
On a different note. My posts also go out on Twitter and apparently yesterday someone hacked my account. Sorry about the Sunglasses SPAM that you might have gotten. Note to the hacker…you really should hack someone who has more than 68 followers.
