The Return of the Rose-breasted Grosbeaks

The return of the Rose-breasted Grosbeaks!

Yesterday, my Dad’s 81st birthday, marked the return of the Rose-breasted Grosbeaks to our mountain. They are just incredibly beautiful birds. They can and will eat a whole bunch of sunflower seeds but the price of admission is worth it to me! I heard the sharp chalky sound of one yesterday and saw one near the Bluebirds nestbox, he wasn’t invading just perched nearby. Hopefully they will be here in big numbers like last year for a couple of weeks and we will have a few stay over the summer months as well.
