What is up with the poop shots?
Okay, I will apologize in advance as some of you are eating breakfast or dinner even, but what is up with photographer’s obsession with birds of prey poop shots. Is it just working on the timing of your shots, the fascination of projectile poop, or just something to break up the slow times? Believe me it is not just an obsession with males who never really grew up, but I hear female photographers as well talk about how they got the shot. I see people post images on a regular basis of birds pooping. It is pretty cool to see 5 week old Eaglettes launch a poop over the side of the nest 5 to 10 feet though. We birders are a strange group to begin with and I am sure we aren’t doing ourselves any favors by bragging about who got the best poop shot. I even have sequence poop shots! Oh well, just wondering here how many people do poop shots…be honest, time to come clean and admit it.
Both poop shots were sharply captured using the Tamron SP 150-600mm Di VC USD lens on a Nikon D-7200, Sirui N3204X tripod and PH20 Gimbal Head, Peak Design strap, Lowepro photoback, processed in Lightroom CC. #withmytamron
