Go Ahead, Make My Day…

Go ahead, make my day…
We had an unexpected 3 inches of snow yesterday here in Bear Woods. They had predicted a slight chance of flurries with no accumulation…oops. It made for some great bird photography opportunities though. Lots of birds were at the feeders yesterday and they weren’t always very cordial about it either. This was a showdown between a White-breasted Nuthatch, on the top, and a Carolina Wren. You can see how the Nuthatch is displaying aggression with the tail fan. I think they both fly off after the stalemate. It was interesting to watch the confrontations during the day. And it should be around 70 degrees in a day or two…
