I Know the Day is Coming.

Eastern Bluebird Spartacus 021916a copy

I know the day is coming.
Spring is just around the corner. The inevitable is in the air. Spartacus will leave the yard and maybe even the area in search of a territory and a mate. He and the other juveniles from last year are being pestered by the adults and it is a sign the time is near. I am sure once more active nest building begins with longer days and more warmth, he will go. I am not sad though. Almost like a proud grandparent. To see something you had a part of survive and thrive hopefully filling the mountainside with more bluebirds…how can one not be happy? This was Spartacus on one of my perch trees the other day. Long live Spartacus.

  1. Awesome. They are such a beautiful bird. The ones Hanging around my place haven’t been around much lately. I started putting out meal worms. Hopefully that draws them out.
