Fall Leaves 102715i copy

Fall is leaving fast.

The remnants of Patricia are working their way through Bear Woods and the rest of the southern US. The fall foliage is blowing away with it. I am sure living near the top of a mountain like we do, we are getting some of the effects more than shielded areas down low, but we have lost, by my estimate 30-40% or more of the leaves on the trees. After today it could be much more. There are sections of my driveway and our road that you can’t see the ground below them. I really enjoy photographing the leaves on the ground though so I am digging it. It was so windy yesterday as I shot, I had to kick up my ISO to get a little better shutter speed. The wind was still wicked on the leaves though. Go out and enjoy the colors while you can, they may not be there very much longer.

Tamron 16-300mm Di-II VC PZD Macro lens on a Canon 7Dii, Aperture Priority, f8, -0 stops of exposure compensation, ISO 800, resulting in a shutter speed of 1/60th of a second, Sirui W2204 waterproof tripod and K20X ballhead, Peak Design Slide, Lowepro photo backpacks, processed in Lightroom CC.
