“Ma” Berry

Berry Eagles 102315n copy

“Ma” Berry.

Also known as Martha and Big Momma. This is the female Bald Eagle at Berry College. She is a big eagle by standards here in Georgia. She is visibly larger than the male. She injured a talon a couple of years ago, but that hasn’t stopped her from being a hunting machine. She easily catches and provides food for the eaglettes each year. It is incredible to watch her fly around the nesting area. Such majestic birds, such a great example of a Bald Eagle.

Tamron SP 150-600mm Di VC USD lens on a Canon 7Dii, Aperture Priority, f8, +.7 stops of exposure compensation, ISO 800, resulting in a shutter speed of 1/100th of a second, handheld at 600mm via the VC (Vibration Compensation) feature of the lens, Peak Design Leash, Lowepro photo backpack, processed in Lightroom CC.
