Wattled Crane

Wattled Crane

At the International Crane Foundation simply seeing all 15 species of cranes in the world are a treat. Getting to photograph them, like this Wattled Crane, is the bonus! These guys are about 6 feet tall and native to Africa. This guy was huge and followed me up and down the fence. I am pretty sure he was checking out the Sirui monopod admiring the foot at the end of it!

Tamron SP 150-600mm Di VC USD lens on a Nikon D-7200, Aperture Priority, f8, -0 stops of exposure compensation, ISO 800, resulting in a shutter speed of 1/200th of a second, Sirui P204S monopod and L10 head, Peak Design Leash, processed in Lightroom CC.
