A few changes here…

A few changes here…

You will notice a change around “The 3 Chairs” in the image today. We installed a fence. Being up here full time now, we have made many changes. One thing we have always tried to do at our home is raise our own vegetables. When we lived in Hiram we had to deal with the usual rabbits, squirrels and turtles…yes turtles (they love cucumbers). Chicken wire took care of most of that. Here we have bigger critters like deer and bear. I don’t oppose hunting but I don’t do it anymore and I wouldn’t in my yard at the garden. We also have Lily and Bailey our 9 1/2 year old Golden Retrievers who aren’t really mountain wise. For their protection and enjoyment of the backyard, and the protection of the garden, soon to be gardens, we replaced the old low voltage fence with a welded wire fence. I have mixed emotions about it but know it is best for our dogs. There was always a fence there, you just didn’t see it thanks to the magic of Photoshop. The dogs were able to get through it and deer easily jumped over it. I know that it is bringing a little city to the country but we feel it necessary. A couple of years ago the bears decided our porch posts were great marking territory and the bear activity has really picked up this year. Though not aesthetically pleasing, necessary for peace of mind to keep the bears wild and safe as well as our Golden girls.

On a different note. This image was made with my new Tamron SP 15-30mm Di VC USD lens! It came in yesterday but with all the work I didn’t get to shoot it until late last night and this morning. What an incredible lens! I look forward to shooting it on a few upcoming trips and events.

Tamron SP 15-30mm Di VC USD lens on a Nikon D-800, Aperture Priority, f4, -0 stops of exposure compensation, ISO 100, resulting in a shutter speed of 1/320th of a second, handheld utilizing the VC, Vibration Compensation feature of the lens, Peak Design Slide strap, processed in Lightroom CC.
