Time for some grubs!

Time for some grubs!

Yesterday morning, or the evening before, the Bluebird residents in the nest box behind the house hatched. It is amazing the amount of bugs they find so quickly. They make several trips out and return back minutes later with some of the biggest grubs and spiders I have seen, of course I am not really going out and looking for them. I do the images with virtually no stress to the birds as I set up a camera and tripod off to the side and use a remote trigger to shoot. I sit on the back porch with a coffee or a cider.

Tamron SP 150-600mm Di VC USD lens on a Nikon D-800, Aperture Priority, f6.3, +0 stops of exposure compensation, ISO 6400, resulting in a shutter speed of 1/125th of a second, Sirui T2205X tripod and K40X ballhead, Peak Design Slide strap, Pocket Wizard remote trigger, processed in Lightroom CC.
