Pink Lady Slipper Macro Monday

Pink Lady Slipper, Macro Monday.

There is just something special about seeing such a magnificent flower in the wild. To walk through the woods and see them just popping up out of the ground in the most unlikely places, is fascinating. They don’t do much for about 50 weeks out of the year, but those two they are up, is spectacular. It was very windy the day we were shooting and sunny to boot. I took my fleece off and we used it as a windshield behind the flower and then held my ball cap to shade the flower. There were 3 of us shooting so we took turns. Thankfully we had another friend there that volunteered to be the full time jacket holder!

Tamron SP 90mm f2.8 Di VC USD Macro lens on a Sony a7R, Aperture Priority, f11, -.3 stops of exposure compensation, ISO 1600, resulting in a shutter speed of 1/13th of a second, Sirui T2205X tripod and K40X ballhead, Marumi Circular Polarizer, Peak Design Leash, processed in Lightroom CC.
