Pay attention to your backgrounds.

At our Old Car City Workshop on Saturday we had a few models out for our portrait session. A lot of folks don’t know that I actually started in the business as a portrait photographer. I still do portraits whenever I can. We had Lou Raimondi helping to direct the scenes and diffuse the light with the Interfit 5 in 1 reflectors. I was explaining to the group to watch your backgrounds. What should be a nice portrait of the model on the car quickly becomes an ad for Chain Saws…

Tamron SP 70-200mm Di VC USD lens on a Nikon D-800, Aperture Priority, various apertures for the different images, -.7 stops of exposure compensation, ISO 100, hand held utilizing the VC feature of the lens, processed in Lightroom 5.
