One of the things I really enjoy shooting in Eastpoint is the textures on the oyster boats. Barnacles are one of my favorites. When I see them and the other textures though, it really makes me appreciate the amount of time and labor that go into maintaining the boats. I have such respect for those who work so hard to make a living fishing, it is not easy. It also makes me take a look at the whole Georgia, Alabama, and Florida water wars and how important fresh water is to the Apalachicola Bay. That is a discussion for another day…but it needs to addressed soon or this life and livelihood will disappear.
