The Keys

The Keys

I am in Seekonk, MA for a really great event, the Macro Photography Conference. Mike Moats came up with the idea to host a conference where 7 photographers would come in and present their styles to 100 people. Then the photographers would assist the 100 people in putting into practice what they were taught. There are over 100 “stations” set up for the participants to shoot various objects from keys to flowers and beyond. It is going to be really interesting how each presenter does compared to the others, myself included. It is not a competition but instead an opportunity to see how different or how alike photographers think and see.

I have a philosophy, there is only one correct exposure but an infinite number of compositions.

Here is my composition of the keys.

Tamron 16-300mm Di-II VC PZD lens on a Canon 7D, Aperture Priority, f11, +0 stops of exposure compensation, resulting in a shutter speed of 1.6 seconds, Vanguard Alta Pro tripod and BBH-200 head, processed in Lightroom 5.
