The Cadillac Flying Lady Hood Ornament

The Flying Lady

Last week I met up with my friend Mike Moats at Old Car City. I wanted to shoot some different teaching images for presentations while there. I had a blast talking with Mike and even got the images I wanted to shoot as well. One thing I have been wanting to do is shoot the “Flying Lady” hood ornament from the side. I have shot from the front a bunch but wanted a different perspective.

I am packing up and heading up to do Mike’s Macro Photography Conference in Seekonk, MA in the morning. I look forward to sharing an all new presentation on Composition in the Macro Landscape. I look forward to seeing some old friends and meeting many new ones as well.

Tamron 16-300mm Di-II VC PZD Macro lens on a Canon 7D, shot at 300mm, Aperture Priority, f8, -.7 stops of exposure compensation, ISO 100, resulting in a shutter speed of 1/6th of a second, Vanguard Alta Pro tripod and BBH head, processed in Lightroom 5.
