Self inflicted “freakouts”

I am giving myself the “freakouts” with this one!

I am not a fan of spiders, to say the least, but I love to photograph them. I was looking for things to shoot when I spotted this one. Hard to miss since it was at least an inch and half long! I did a few shots from the side, then it decided to move into an attack position. I am sure it felt if it could take me down, it’s need to hunt in the foreseeable future would not be needed. I moved in front of it, which is probably exactly what it was wanting, and did a few more shots focusing on the eyes…all eight beady eyes…

Tamron SP 180mm f3.5 Di Macro lens on a Sony a7R, Aperture Priority, f8, +.3 stops of exposure compensation, ISO 400, resulting in a shutter speed of 1/13 of a second, Vanguard Alta Pro tripod and BBH-200 head, processed in Lightroom 5 and Topaz Clarity.
