The 3 Chairs and the Milky Way

I have been wanting to try this shot for a long time and finally got the chance last night. The really nice cool and dry air that has been working it’s way down to our mountain provided everything I needed to capture “The 3 Chairs”, our house, and the Milky Way. In order to capture everything into the frame I had to do 3 shots, then stitch them together in Photoshop as a panoramic, then process them in Lightroom. The light in the house is one tiny “night light”, 25 watts. I “painted” the chairs with a flashlight for about 2 seconds.

Tamron SP 24-70mm f2.8 Di VC USD lens on a Sony a7R, Manual Mode, 30 second exposure, f4, Vanguard Alta Pro tripod and BBH-200 head, stitched in Photoshop CS6, processed in Lightroom 5.
