Faded Glory

Faded Glory.

Summer is coming to an end here in Bear Woods, though the 90 degree temps are a little distraction from that truth. Leaves on the sumacs and sourwoods are starting to turn to brilliant red. It will take a few weeks for all their leaves to change. Then in about 4 or 5 weeks, the hickory and oaks follow suit. Today though just a simple, single flower finishes it’s summer mission and drops the last of the seeds into the wind.

The peace and quiet that Evelyn and I needed are here as always in Bear Woods. Although we aren’t in Mexico relaxing like we had planned, we are taking a much needed breather here at home.
