Reflections

Reflections.

I use a circular polarizer for a large number of the images I shoot, primarily when I am wanting to reduce glare and increase saturation in the image. There are times though that minimizing the amount of polarization in order to get a nice reflection is nice for the composition as well. When the background is in a similar light to the subject it seems to work very well.

Tamron 16-300mm Di-II VC PZD Macro lens on a Canon 7D, Aperture Priority, f16, -1 stop of exposure compensation, ISO 100, resulting in a shutter speed of 1/6th of a second, Marumi Circular Polarizer dialed to enhance the reflection, Vanguard Abeo Pro tripod and BBH-200 head, processed in Lightroom 5.
