Tropical Waterlilies

A continuation of the beautiful waterlilies at Gibbs Gardens for today and maybe a couple more days…

It was pretty sunny when I went on Wednesday but that is what is required to open the flowers! These are two waterlilies that I was told are tropical and you can tell from the longer stems of the flowers. Often they have to be removed from the ponds during the winter because they won’t survive. I will have to find out more next time I talk with Mr. Gibbs. I really liked the contrast of the blue and green in the image as well.
